Repair work is the backbone of the business: supply and drain leaks, burst and split pipes after a cold snap, seized shutoff valves, faucets and mixing valves, running or rocking toilets, tub and shower diverters, laundry and dishwasher hookups, frozen lines in an unheated crawl space, and the main shutoff nobody has turned in thirty years. Copper, galvanized, cast iron and PEX all show up in the same week in these towns.

Most people call for one of three reasons. Water is going somewhere it should not and they need it stopped now. A fixture has been limping along for months and finally quit. Or a plumber before us replaced the visible part and the problem came straight back, which usually means the fault was upstream of what got swapped.

Bergen County housing stock is old, and that changes the work. A 1920s Dumont colonial still has galvanized branch lines that close up from the inside, cast iron waste that rusts at the hub, and copper joined to steel where nobody installed a dielectric fitting. We look at what the pipe is actually made of before we quote, because that decides whether this is a repair or the start of a repipe.
