Our story
Forty years in the same North Jersey towns
The business opened in 1982 as Bob Faulborn Plumbing & Heating Contractor, working out of Dumont in eastern Bergen County. Most people know it simply as Woody the Plumber, which is the name that ends up written on the pad by the phone and passed to the next neighbor.
The work has stayed residential and stayed local. Repairs and replacements in houses that are eighty and a hundred years old, heating systems that have been converted and extended more than once, and bathrooms taken down to the studs and rebuilt. Staying in the same towns for this long means we have usually been in the house before, or in the one next door with the same layout and the same tired galvanized riser.
What has changed is the fuel and the load. Oil tanks that were normal in 1982 are liabilities now, which is why oil to gas conversions became a steady part of the schedule. Houses that had one bathroom and a coal converted boiler now have two baths, a dishwasher, a washer that fills fast, and a finished basement nobody wants water in. Most of what we do starts with a system that was honest about the house it was built for.
Licensed New Jersey plumbing and heating contractor, fully insured. Work is performed to New Jersey plumbing code, estimates on new installations are free, and emergency calls are answered 24 hours.
How we work
What working with us actually looks like
Four things that come up on nearly every first phone call.
Family owned since 1982
Over forty years under the same name, trading as Bob Faulborn Plumbing & Heating Contractor. The company has never been sold to a holding group, and the person who quotes your job works here.
Plumbing and heating together
One license covering the water side and the heat side of your house. A leaking supply line in the morning and a boiler that will not fire in the afternoon are the same phone call.
Priced before the work starts
Free estimates on new installations, and a quoted price on repair work before anything is opened up. No discovery billing.
Done to code, not to the clock
Work performed to New Jersey plumbing code, permits pulled and inspections walked through, which is also what gets a job signed off the first time.
Come see for yourself
Describe the problem and we will tell you straight
If a repair will hold, we will say so. If the boiler or the tank is genuinely finished, you will hear that at the estimate rather than halfway through the job.
